Totalflow 5.1 Release
Highlighting the New Features
On 3/3/2026 ABB has released new firmware package’s for the current Totalflow G5 family (RMC, XIO, XRC, XFC, uFlo) alongside a update to PCCU (7.81). This release will allow for easier Ethernet APL integration, hints at the upcoming XIO LCD display option and more.
Highlights
Ethernet APL Made Easy
Supports MRBX Modbus requests: A single generic communication app running the Modbus TCP Client protocol can now poll multiple Modbus TCP Server devices by using MRBX Modbus requests which contain destination IP/Port of the Modbus TCP Server devices.
XIO Gets Display Support*
*Note this will only apply to the new XIO hardware with USB-C ports
Provides user customization options for the configuration of the external OLED character display that can be connected to the XIO. The display supports 4 rows and 20 characters per row. This allows for the display of data (variables and their values) and 8 annunciators (alarms)
XIO Gets Power Monitoring*
*Note this will only apply to the new XIO hardware with USB-C ports
Supports Voltage and Power monitoring through auxiliary Analog Inputs. Supports the display of the security switch status (Enabled or Not Enabled) through auxiliary Digital Input.
Gas Lift App goes SU
Supports Selectable Unit Gas Lift app: Constant and configurable parameters, process variables, and calculation results are displayed with user selectable units.
Shutdown Timers
Analog Input (AI) and Digital Input (DI) timers were added to the Shutdown app entry mode screen.
The register for these timers has always been there. However the timer itself was a hidden register in PCCU and has been added to the INI.
Batch Log Shuffling
Support for Batch Log App record shuffling option: The last full Batch Log record can now be updated either when it is stopped or when a new record is started (default).
